Thomas Osen, PLS

Cofounder & Project Manager

Thomas co-founded 4th Dimension and has a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering with a Land Surveying certificate from Montana State University. In December of 2020, he completed his Master’s degree in Geospatial Information Systems (MGIS) from Penn State University. He is licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in 7 States: North Dakota, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, and South Dakota. He began surveying and drone operating in 2010, amassing extensive experience serving both private and oil field clients. With a start in UAV operations around 2018, Thomas has dedicated himself to ensuring safety and efficiency in over 400 hours of UAV operating time. In his role at 4DSC, Thomas continues to work closely with clients to guarantee that their projects are delivered safely and efficiently.

Nik Pflueger, LSIT

Cofounder & Lead Surveyor

Nik played a pivotal role in the founding of 4DSC and holds a Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying & Mapping Sciences. He embarked on his field experience in land surveying more than a decade ago, bringing extensive knowledge and expertise to the team. With a foundation in drone operations beginning around 2011, Nik has accumulated significant experience, marked by over 300 hours of Drone Operating time. At 4th Dimension, he is instrumental in ensuring that field operations are not only highly efficient but also conducted with utmost safety, thereby providing our clients with the most dynamic surveys available. Nik's relentless work ethic and meticulous attention to detail have been crucial in advancing our technology adoption, allowing us to offer a broader spectrum of services and solutions to our clients.

Jonathan Olson, PE

Principal Engineer

Jonathan is a registered professional engineer with over 7 years of design and construction experience across the municipal, county, private development, and energy sectors. He delivers efficient designs and construction plans tailored for the Bakken Region, significantly reducing lead times and costs. By combining his engineering expertise with strong drafting abilities, Jonathan produces accurate plan sets and 3D models. His diverse experience enables him to quickly assess infrastructure challenges and develop feasible solutions.

Tim Frick

Tim is a Land Survey Intern in North Dakota with 9 years of experience in boundary/cadastral and topographic surveys, as well as County/DOT projects. He delivers expert grading, layout, plat drafting, and as-built services, ensuring precise survey data and high-quality project support. Tim’s practical expertise and dedication to accuracy make him a reliable asset for any surveying challenge.

Michael Venderdahl

Michael is a dedicated Survey Party Chief with nearly two decades of experience in land surveying, oil field operations, and construction staking. His expertise spans cadastral surveys, drone mapping, and large-scale oil field and infrastructure projects—ensuring accurate, reliable survey data for diverse development needs. Currently leading survey operations at 4th Dimension Surveying & Consulting, he integrates modern technologies from drone flights for site design to precise construction staking. Michael’s career began in the U.S. Army, where high-pressure, high-precision surveying laid the foundation for his continued success. He is FAA-certified as a Remote Pilot, further enhancing his technical capabilities.
